My Prostate Cancer & The DGR

13 years ago, having tuned 50 I had a general health check, my doctor suggested including a PSA test. As a result I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, a big shock as I had never had any symptoms.

Within the next few months the cancer was treated by the removal of my prostate, and while recovering from the stress and surgery I read a story about group of motorcyclists raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

I need to join this cause.

It was the second year of The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and it was organised for the first weekend I was allowed to start riding after the surgery.

So I signed on and started my DGR journey, 13 rides later I'm still riding and raising funds to support Prostate Cancer awareness and Men's Mental Health.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Friday 21st Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
